Terms & Conditions

An initial consultation will be conducted by our Clutter Free Solutions consultant prior to the session where exact goals will be outlined.

During the session items will be sorted into categories of similar items e.g. books, shoes, toys, paperwork etc.  Rubbish and recycling will also be separated.  Depending on initial agreement items will then be packed up and stored or further sorted into more sophisticated subcategories/storage.  The room with then be tidied or rearranged as per clients specification or organisers recommendation.  Additional services may be organised if required.

By engaging Clutter Free Solutions it is implied that you understand and agree to the following terms and conditions.

Confidentiality and privacy
Clutter Free Solutions operates a professional and confidential service. No client information we come across during the course of our session is ever divulged to third parties.
We like to take before and after photographs of the work we do, in part for our own records, but would never reproduce such images without express written permission from the client concerned.

Disclaimer
The expectations of the client will have been discussed at the initial consultation; these will be reiterated in the booking contract.  We will operate within the scope of that contract.
Clutter Free Solutions provide advice on good faith and it is your decision to accept our guidance, with particular reference to keeping or discarding possessions.  Obvious items of value will be treated with due care and attention but we do not have the expertise to identify unusual or rare items, or to value them.  Clients are advised to seek their own valuations of such items.  While we will use our best endeavors to identify such items whilst decluttering, ultimately it is the client’s responsibility to consider the value of such items prior to discarding them.
Great care will be taken when handling the client’s possessions, but in the unlikely event that an accident does happen, Clutter Free Solutions will not be held liable for any losses or damages incurred; this would be within the remit of your household insurance.

Disposal or removal of items
Clutter Free Solutions will provide you with advice about the different options for the appropriate disposal or sale of items.  The client must accept responsibility for all or any items disposed of during the decluttering process, unless otherwise agreed.  Agreement would be reached prior to session’s commencement as to different items destinations.  For more information about removal options see our service details.

Hours of work
Bookings will be made based on an assessment of how many hours a job will take to complete.  However, the nature of this work is such that it is not always possible to predict exactly how long a given job will take.  For this reason you will only be charged for the hours actually worked, be that less or more than originally anticipated.  Due to the physically demanding nature of decluttering short breaks will be necessary but not excessive.

Cancellations
Cancellations are sometimes unavoidable.  Both Clutter Free Solutions and the client have the right to cancel the booking due to unforeseeable circumstances.  If a cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the booking, with no replacement session being booked, Clutter Free Solutions reserve the right to charge up to 50% of the original agreed estimate.  Non-refundable travel expenses, paid for in advance, will be payable by the client in full, regardless of cancellation circumstances.

Travel Costs
No travel expenses will be charged for work completed on the Isle of Wight.  For work undertaken on the mainland, travel expenses will be agreed in advance and itemised on the contract.

Limits of work
Clutter Free Solutions will attempt to fulfill all your decluttering and organising needs but for health and safety reason may not be able to do everything.  We maintain the right to decline assistance moving heavy or unsanitary items and suggest the client lines up additional help should such moving prove necessary.  The client is responsible for ensuring that the premises being decluttered is reasonably safe.
Similarly, while providing comprehensive advice concerning your decluttering needs, some work may be beyond our scope.  In these instances we would be able to recommend appropriate professionals.  Examples of this could include deep cleaning, carpentry or rubbish disposal.

Referrals
Where additional services are required Clutter Free Solutions will recommend suitable tradesmen or professionals, for example, handymen, cleaners, skips.  Clients are at liberty to follow our recommendations or enlist professionals of their own choosing.  Although Clutter Free Solutions may take a referral fee from tradesmen or professionals recommended, payment for their services will be made directly from client to person undertaking the job.  However, Clutter Free Solutions’ will not be held liable if any third party’s performance falls below an acceptable standard nor will we be liable for any loss or damage caused by aforementioned third party.
